I just tested it because after joining a server I usually get 70 ping with I had 90 only so soon after enabling chromium to use the media player addon. my 3 IQ struggles to understand this but it answers my questions, thank you. If the server has low tickrate, high choke, poor net values, or if the client has a poor connection, connecting to a server too far, has a laggy game, or their bandwidth is being maxed out by other users in the household or them downloading something then it will increase ping. It shouldn't increase your ping, how much latency increase are you experiencing and how are you testing it?

Same holds true even for servers, if you set the server's tickrate too low (tickrate is equivalent to FPS in server terms, albeit just how many times per second it updates not displays frames) then you will experience a substantial ping increase. I go back into Garrys Mod and it is still happening. I deleted all of my addons because i thought that some were conflicting certain aspects of the game. Ping is just the time it takes to send a packet to a server and how long it takes for it to get back to you, mods and Chromium shouldn't increase it unless if you have low FPS which would cause longer response times from you & the server because your client isn't updating as fast. Everytime I delete addons via the addons folder, they just get redownloaded though Steam. thirdparty/cef3/ directory (after extraction.) The paths are currently hardcoded into the root CMakelists.txt file.Chromium is Google's open source web browser that's similar to Google Chrome.

You can download the builds used by Garry's Mod here if you don't want to compile your own: Platform

Works for my mac which no longer supports 32 bit 4. You can go to Properties/Betas and select the chromium x86 64 bit beta and run the game like that.

To work with this project you will need a build of the Chromium Embedded Framework. 32-bit vs regularly launching gmod In the prompt that appears when you launch Garrys mod, there is a prompt that has you decide whether to play Garrys mod or to launch it in 32-bit. This is pretty much just an abstraction layer around The Chromium Embedded Framework ( ) Chromium Embedded Framework Binary Distribution
